Thembinkosi Mkhize has a B.Sc (Chemistry, Soil Chemistry, and Chemistry of Materials from the University of Natal), is a qualified Business and Executive Coach and has over 25 years industry experience in the logistics, petrochemical, mining, ports, water utilities, refinery, public sectors, and environmental consulting. He has extensive experience in the environmental, health and safety fields, process optimisation, process and behavioural safety both at conception and implementation levels. Thembinkosi has held line and senior management (general manager) roles at various local and global companies, and currently runs Zeethemba Consultancy that focuses on environmental, energy, and water issues, leadership and executive coaching, in various sectors of the economy.

Liz Anderson
Executive Director of RPMASA has over 35 years Industry experience. She is a Chartered Environmentalist and Expert in Quality, Environment and Chemicals Management. Liz provides Training, Audit and Consulting services on all aspects of Environment, chemical operations and logistics + and GHS compliance, including Site and Operational reviews. She has participated in various National Standards Committees and Legislation processes on behalf of Industry since the 1980’s. Liz represents RPMASA on the UNECE Sub Committees of Experts for Transport of Dangerous Goods, and the GHS. She has given presentations at numerous Conferences and Workshops in SA and overseas.   • Quade Corder
    Vice Chairman is currently Senior Mnger : Quality, OHSE & Sustainability Operations for CHEP South Africa, part of the International Brambles Group. The company provides Supply Chain solutions, systems and products. He is responsible for leading Safety, Quality and Sustainability for Africa and the Middle East, with wide experience of regulatory compliance requirements in these regions.   • Pat Reddy
    Director – started work in the chemical industry where he studied chemical technology and worked in Laboratories before moving to the Department of Water Affairs where he worked for over 20 years. Pat moved to Buyisa e-Bag to help increase its community outreach for education, craft and recycling programmes. He established a number of projects bringing much needed skills and jobs to people in rural KZN, East and West Cape. Pat’s passion is protecting the environment, and our precious water resources, hence he is strongly supportive of RPMASA Producer and Social Responsibility Advocacy for take back and re-use or safe disposal of chemically contaminated packaging’s AND the Happy drum project. Pat moved to the Dept of Environment when they absorbed Buyisa e bag into the Department, and where he is still involved in community projects in various parts of the country

    Dr Ilse Asquith
    Director Ilse is an Expert in Occupational Health & Safety Training, Risk Assessment & GHS Compliant SDS Ilse started her career in chemicals Management at the Port Elizabeth Technikon as a Lab Technician and then Hygiene Officer for the Chemistry Department. She studied chemistry and Occupational Health while a part time lecturer at NMMU teaching subjects such as Chemical Process Industries, General Chemistry and Health, Safety and Environmental Management as a Chemical Hygiene Officer/Technician. Ilse has her own Consultancy and is one of a handful of South Africans who specializes in the Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Classification and Labelling (GHS).

    Tap Du Plessis
    TAP du Plessis has been CEO of TrenStar since 2003. Trenstar provides Integrated Logistics Solutions to Industry, including track and trace systems to enhance Supply Chain efficiency. Tap holds a B.Eng. (Honours) in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pretoria, with an MBA through GIBS.TAP has extensive Management and Supply Chain experience which he gained locally and abroad.

    John Gawler
    Past Chairman is Group Procurement Manager at Kansai Plascon, Prior to this John was Regional Procurement Manager Africa, Middle East and Pakistan for Caltex. He has a B Com and a wealth of experience in Procurement and Supply Chain for chemicals, chemical packaging and supply services in both the Industrial and Retail sectors.

    Martin Connor
    Past Chairman, Martin is GM Africa Operations for Buckman Africa. He has many years experience in the chemical Industry and been with Buckman for over 14 years where he was previously Supply Chain Manager and Operations Manager: Sales. Prior to this he was with Protea Chemicals in their Sales Division.
